Walk upstairs and you’re greeted by a charming dining room with colorful ceramic plates lining the stone walls and a view of the national theater. Mehed Köögis––or men in the kitchen––focuses on modern Nordic cuisine with a home-style twist. Portions are creatively presented and more generous than you might expect. Share the appetizer platter for two with tangy pumpkin hummus and the restaurant’s famous green pancakes served with whitefish roe. The slow-cooked lamb pairs well with a glass of hearty Saperavi Georgian red, as recommended by the staff...
